Our Services

A person fills out a form while another waits anxiously.

At DC Care Collaborative, we are here to help you navigate the journey of aging.

Psychotherapy

Whether you are experiencing depression, anxiety, grieving the loss of a loved one, having relationship concerns or trying to navigate a life transition (i.e. retirement, being newly single, etc.), one of our licensed therapists can help. We are in-network with Medicare, Medicaid, United and Carefirst BCBS and are currently accepting new patients both in-person and virtually.

Companion Care Services

Our Companion Caregivers provide friendly, reliable support for older adults who would benefit from additional social connection and light assistance at a more accessible rate than our Daughters for the Day. Companions are carefully screened and selected to ensure safety, consistency, and a positive presence.

This service is designed for individuals who are largely independent but would benefit from extra support with everyday activities and companionship, including:

  • Friendly visits and conversation
  • Accompaniment on walks or simple outings
  • Running errands
  • Light assistance with organizing mail or household items
  • Support with routine tasks
  • Companionship at home to reduce isolation

While Companion Care focuses on social engagement and practical support, it does not include more complex care coordination or clinical services. Our goal is to provide dependable, compassionate companionship that enhances day-to-day well-being and quality of life.

Daughter for the Day Services

Daughters for the Day provides companionship and emotional support to older adults who may not have frequent visits from family or loved ones. Our team offers a warm, dependable presence while assisting with a wide range of daily tasks and activities.

All of our Daughters for the Day are carefully vetted, highly capable individuals—often second-career professionals—who bring life experience, emotional intelligence, and a strong sense of responsibility to their work. Many have advanced education or professional backgrounds, ensuring a thoughtful and reliable level of support.

Services may include:

  • Accompaniment to medical appointments
  • Opening mail and assisting with bill payment
  • Organizing paperwork and household items
  • Running errands
  • Accompaniment on outings, such as to a restaurant or museum
  • Providing companionship and engagement at home

Our goal is to support independence, reduce isolation, and enhance overall quality of life through meaningful connection and thoughtful, hands-on support.

DC Care Collaborative offers a variety of support groups. We currently have openings in our support group for older adults dealing with depression and in our Aging Support Group. Look out for new group offerings in the future.

Care Management

Geriatric care managers are experts in aging.  They work with older adults and their families to assess the needs and preferences of the individual/family and help create a plan to meet those needs.  For some, that may mean moving to a different community, while for others, it may mean bringing supports into the home.  Geriatric care managers also provide guidance on the most important legal and financial documents everyone should have and can provide referrals to estate attorneys and financial advisors, if requested.  Additionally, care managers are often the liaison between doctors and out of town family members. Whether you need assistance as a result of an acute situation or are proactively planning for your future, DCCC's case managers can provide one-time consults or ongoing assistance.

Well Check Calls

Well check calls are phone calls for those who may not want or need ongoing counseling or care management services, but would benefit from a check-in by phone. Well check calls provide social connection and reassurance that someone is checking in regularly to ensure that you are well.

Hoarding, Downsizing & Relocation Assistance

Whether you are looking to downsize or to relocate, our experts are here to offer assistance. We use a compassionate, non-judgmental approach and help make the whole process feel less overwhelming. We also offer Swedish Death Cleaning services. Click here to learn more about Swedish Death Cleaning.

End of Life Planning

There are many different considerations when it comes to planning for the end of life. These can include:

  • Designating someone as your decision maker for when  you can no longer decide for yourself
  • Which medical treatments you'd like administered should you become physically or mentally incapacitated
  • What you would want to have done to your body and your possessions when you are no longer here
  • How would you want to be remembered (i.e. what do you want  your legacy to be).
